Rockhounds Play Angels?

The Rockhounds play the "Flaming Angels" Sunday at 11:00 on either Twin Oaks Field #3 or Twin Oaks Field #4.

New Game Times

The Rockhounds start today's first game at 11:00 on Field #2. The second game is at 12:55.

Because of yesterday's rains, the tournament schedule may change. It will be updated at 8:30am.

League Schedule Changes

The BC League Schedule has changed. The game on June 2 has been rescheduled and the game on June 11 has been rescheduled. We are now playing a double-header on Tuesday, June 10 at Legion Field.

School's Out Schedule Posted

The schedule for the School's Out Tournamnet has been released and we play three league teams.
Just a heads-up but I assume the 12:45 game on Saturday will be moved back as that is obviously an error.

Minor Leaguer Traded for 10 Baseball Bats

This made the rounds today, but in case you missed it:

During three years in the low minors, John Odom never really made a name for himself. That sure changed this week—he’s the guy who was traded for a bunch of bats. “I don’t really care,” he said Friday. “It’ll make a better story if I make it to the big leagues.”

Balk and the Delayed Dead Ball

USSSA baseball uses Major League Baseball rules with USSSA modifications. Since USSSA doesn't address balks, the pertinent rule is MLB 8.05:
"PENALTY: The ball is dead, and each runner shall advance one base without liability to be put out, unless the batter reaches first on a hit, an error, a base on balls, a hit batter, or otherwise, and all other runners advance at least one base, in which case the play proceeds without reference to the balk."

Games Moved

Once again the Rockhounds will be playing their games this week at Legion Field.

There have been changes to this and next week's schedules. We will play one game on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and next. The games have been moved to the Legion Field off Broadway just east of Keene St.

The Rockhounds Win

The Rockhounds defeated the Springfield Spartans 9-0 to advance to a quarterfinal rematch with the Pride at 2:00 pm.

Rockhounds Drop Two

The Rockhounds dropped both games on Saturday and find themselves playing the Springfield Spartans at 10 am on field 3.
